Are you an experienced grower with a passion for elevating production standards? Our client, a well-established wholesale producer of young plants specializing in Clematis, is seeking a Head Grower to lead their stock plant program and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their young plant production operation. This is an exciting opportunity to put your expertise to work in a high-volume, respected organization with deep horticultural roots.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Leading and optimizing stock (mother) plant production and cutting programs for Clematis

  • Overseeing and mentoring a team of junior growers to ensure high-quality outputs

  • Collaborating closely with production teams and supervisors to meet crop goals

  • Monitoring plant health, performance, and uniformity, adjusting strategies as needed

  • Developing and implementing best practices to improve efficiency, yield, and consistency


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Proven experience with Clematis stock plant and cutting production

  • Several years of hands-on nursery or greenhouse growing experience (this is not an entry-level role)

  • Strong technical knowledge in propagation, pest/disease management, and environmental controls

  • A confident leadership style and ability to guide, coach, and hold team members accountable

  • A balance of innovative thinking and respect for long-standing horticultural practices

  • Passion for plants and a commitment to maintaining exceptional quality standards
