Logging Technician
Our client, a global leader in the mining sector, has an immediate opening in their Salt Lake City facility for a Logging Technician to support core logging operations and geological data collection. Hands-on training in geological and geotechnical logging
Work alongside geologists, engineers, and technical experts
Exposure to large-scale resource projects that impact future mine planning
Collecting, transporting, and delivering drill core from rigs to logging/storage facilities
Operating core saws, forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment
Washing, cutting, boxing, and shelving drill core samples (repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs)
Maintaining warehouse inventory and barcoding systems
Supporting geologists with sample preparation, data input, and interpretation tasks
Working outdoors in varied weather conditions and around mining equipment
Participating actively in a strong safety-first culture
High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s in Geology (completed or in progress) preferred
Good computer skills (Excel and related applications)
Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a mining environment
Repetitive lifting and physical stamina for extended standing/walking
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Preferred: experience in core logging, mapping, sampling, and geologic data collection
Familiarity with geologic software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, MineSight, or Acquire is an asset
