Safety Supervisor

Our client, a leader in the steel manufacturing industry, is looking for a contract Safety Supervisor. The Safety Supervisor will provide critical support to their Maintenance Department. This position starts on a 2-6 month contract with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent position.

What You Will Be Doing

• Engage employees on safety compliance, concerns, and program awareness

• Conduct audits and inspections (e.g., fall protection, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers)

• Provide technical safety support and ensure compliance with plant and regulatory standards

• Lead or assist with safety training, incident investigations, and safety data tracking

• Support risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives

• Perform additional safety-related duties as needed

Who You Are

• High school diploma required; degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred

• 2+ years of safety experience, ideally in a manufacturing or unionized environment

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety program management

• Excellent communication and leadership skills across all organizational levels

• Must be adaptable, on-call when needed, and effective at driving safe, high-performing teams
