Material Handler

Our client, a well-known HVAC company,  is currently seeking a Material Handler to join their team in Regina, SK. In this role, you will be responsible for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders, as well as counting, verifying, receiving, and putting away incoming vendor materials and customer returns. A high attention to detail is essential to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Follow all Health and Safety regulations while performing job duties

  • Load and unload trucks; operate forklifts and other material handling equipment

  • Receiving Duties:

    • Unload vendor shipments or customer returns, obtain packing slips, and verify materials received

    • Note any discrepancies or damage, and update system records accordingly

    • Print and verify receiving documents and enter received materials into the system

    • Identify and store special order or damaged materials appropriately

    • Document all shipping discrepancies on the freight carrier’s Bill of Lading and initiate claims

  • Shipping Duties:

    • Pick materials for customer orders and verify them against shipping documentation

    • Assemble and pack materials for pick-up or shipment

    • Complete any third-party carrier documentation or Transportation of Dangerous Goods paperwork

  • Notify the Supervisor of inventory discrepancies or damaged/defective materials

  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness by disposing of empty cartons, pallets, and debris

  • Report any warehouse safety concerns to the Supervisor or Profit Centre Manager

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager
     

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset

  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience

  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to develop in-depth product knowledge

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other equipment (training provided)

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process orders
