Our client, a well-known not-for-profit, is seeking a strategic and compassionate leader to join our team as Manager, Employee Pension & Benefits. Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, you’ll lead a team dedicated to delivering our employee pension, benefits, and recognition programs with integrity, care, and strategic foresight.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and coach a team of pension and benefits specialists located at the Richmond office

  • Manage the delivery and administration of group insurance, retirement planning, and enterprise-wide recognition programs

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on pensions (defined contribution and defined benefit) and employee benefits

  • Collaborate with internal governance bodies, including the Pension Committee and Board of Directors, to ensure alignment and compliance

  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements with benefit and pension providers

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate record-keeping

  • Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and labour relations processes

 

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in pension and benefits management (including both defined benefit and defined contribution plans)

  • CEBS certification and/or IFEBP training (e.g., Fundamentals in Retirement and Benefit Plans) is an asset

  • Public sector pension and SERP experience is a strong asset

  • Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
