What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Equipment Maintenance and Reliability:

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze failure data and execute corrective/preventive measures.
  • Drive reliability improvement projects for critical plant assets.
  • Engineering and Design:

  • Design and upgrade mechanical systems to meet production and safety standards.
  • Prepare engineering drawings and technical documents using tools like AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical solutions.
  • Project Management:

  • Oversee the annual capital expenditure budget ($2-8M).
  • Develop project specifications, cost estimates, and timelines.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure project execution aligns with goals.
  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure mechanical systems meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety audits and initiatives.
  • Process Optimization:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Use FMEA and Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Mentor maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and foster a collaborative, innovative environment.

    A Little About You:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in an industrial setting.
    • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is strongly preferred.
    • Expertise in mechanical systems like pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
    • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CMMS systems.
    • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and operational excellence.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in heavy industrial sectors like mining, energy, or chemicals.
    • Certification in reliability engineering (CMRP) or project management (PMP).
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
