Senior Procurement Manager
Burnaby, BC (In-Office position)
Our client, a highly established building materials company, has an opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager to join their team in Burnaby, BC. Reporting to the Procurement Director and Executive Management, this professional will oversee the company’s overall procurement operations and will be responsible for developing a strategic approach to the procurement and material management process. This company aims for long-term tenure and rewards loyal employees for delivering results.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Manage and mentor the procurement team with at least two direct reports.
Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine selling prices.
Establish and implement purchasing standards, controls, policies, and procedures.
Develop and maintain a vendor base to create and sustain a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation.
Leverage vendors and negotiate terms to reduce costs.
Being responsible for the documentation of all purchasing activities ensuring compliance with company policy.
Manage material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimum level.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
Post-secondary degree in Business or related field.
Substantial experience in materials, purchasing and/or supply chain management with increasing and progressive responsibility.
Previous experience in a leadership position with proven ability to guide a team.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
Experience with a Windows-based accounting or ERP system is an asset.
Supply Chain or Supply Management designation an asset (CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, SCMP).
