Contract to Hire Position
$70,000 - $75,000 Salary
Our client, an established Vancouver-based organic/health food distribution company is seeking an experienced and operationally-minded Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will be driven with a strong technical accounting background. Reporting into the CEO/Owner, this is a “hands on” role with an opportunity to make a significant impact on the company.
You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reports and supporting the CEO/Owner with information needs in a fast-paced environment that will draw on your proven skills and experience. You will have strong accounting and business skills and understand distribution and inventory management. You will be assisting with accounting, inventory costing, planning and analysis.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Ensure the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day financial activities and transactions and complete the posting process for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, banking, payroll, and provincial/federal reporting requirements
Analysis of inventory adjustments including physical inventories and cycle counts
Cash flow forecasting and projection
Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets and forecasts and account for any budget variances and report significant discrepancies
Preparation of monthly and year-end balance sheets, profit and loss statements and internal financial packages including related variance and account analysis, sales dashboards, reporting and expense statements
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Experience in full-cycle accounting
Food production or manufacturing industry experience is an asset
Analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills are required
Strong sense of self-motivation and accountability
Proficiency in using Distributec ERP is an asset
Experience implementing new software systems preferred (ERP, CRM)
